For those students that were accepted to study abroad in fall 2016, congratulations! Remember that being accepted via Tulane isn't the end of your application process, be sure to start working on your secondary application if your program requires one. And congratulations to those of you accepted to study abroad with Tulane this summer!
Exciting Announcements:
1) Rachel Bondy, a junior at Tulane who just returned from her Fall 2015 IES Rabat study abroad program, won the "Landscapes and Landmarks" 2015 photo contest category for IES Fall 2015 Study Abroad Photo Contest. Check out her photo, titled "Medina," here.
2) CIEE (Council on International Educational Exchange) announced yesterday that Tulane University will be their new "School of Record" due not only to Tulane being a strong supporter of international education, but also because Tulane has highly respected academic programs for the fastest-growing academic areas of interest (STEM, business and management & health sciences) for international study. Important Upcoming Dates:
- Students approved to study abroad in Academic Year 2016-2017 and Fall 2016 must submit their online orientation and quiz by March 11th
- Students approved to study abroad in Academic Year 2016-2017 and Fall 2016 must submit their Tulane-required post-approval documents by March 29th
International Events in New Orleans:
1. Exhibition "At Home and at War: New Orleans 1914-1919"
In commemoration of the 100th anniversary of World War I, this exhibit looks at the war's impact on life in New Orleans, a city still strongly connected to its French roots and in full embrace of its robust German community.
Exhibit runs from December 9, 2015-May 7, 2016

2. China Lights
New Orleans City Park is excited to announce the transformation of its Botanical Garden into a new and exciting space filled with over 30 blazingly bright silk structures and hundreds of lanterns to dazzle its audience members! Picture an incredible glowing dragon 131-feet long! Open during the day and night, come see what has been enjoyed by hundreds of thousands of people in Europe (most recently in the Netherlands).

1. Fulbright Program Information Sessions
The Fulbright U.S. Student Program provides grants for individually designed Study/Research Projects or for English Teaching Assistant Programs. During their grants, Fulbrighters will meet, work, live with and learn from the people of the host country, sharing daily experiences. If interested in learning more about the Fulbright program, please attend one of the following info sessions:

2. Bayou Lacombe Work/Play Volunteer Opportunity
Join Tulane's INSTANT (International Studies Activism and Networking) for a work/play volunteer adventure at Bayou Lacombe this weekend. You will join park rangers to help restore historical gardens and trails, then enjoy lunch in the great outdoors and then reward yourself with a canoe outing in the bayou! Get out of New Orleans for the day and have some fun with international and returned study abroad students, as well as students interested in studying abroad! The fee is $10, and it is just to cover transportation costs.
