Happy Mardi Gras!

Tips for the Study Abroad Application:

Academic Statement
Demonstrate the connection between your study abroad program and the curriculum you are pursing at Tulane! It is important to explain how your study abroad program will complement and expand what you've already learned here at Tulane. A great essay will go further than explaining a personal desire to go to a certain country, but rather how going to that country will enhance your academic knowledge of a certain field. That means that although you are excited to go to a foreign place and explore new areas, that is not what the emphasis in your essay should be about! Everyone is going to travel when they go abroad, so focus on the specific elements of your program rather than the sights you're excited to see.
